is it time for OpenHab 2 binding?
#1

Dear LCN and OpenHab users,
We saw couple of messages about LCN binding which is written several years ago. We believe that there is a final time to get LCN up to speed with OpenHab 2 and offer decent integration which will follow principles of OpenHab 2.x - namely automatic discovery of installation elements and paper ui integration. These will be main simplification compared to current textual configuration and manual sitemap creation and reduce necessity for meintanance of files for less experienced users.

Given that PCHK protocol is open and can be picked up from existing binding we will be able to detect basic information without element labels. Additional information could be supplied manually or by importing XML description of project (LCN PRO > Export project file).

We have experience with OpenHab development and worked on several 2.x bindings already (1.x as well). If Issendorff is interested in cooperation in this area - we are happy to help you with this particula integration. However first - we would love to hear from you dear OpenHab users. Please let us know if you are interested in such integration and what functionalities you miss mostly.

Kind regards,
Łukasz Dywicki

I want to push this topic. Isn't it in Issendorff's interest to have a modern connection to openHAB?

A statement from Issendorff would be very helpful.

Thank you in advance.

Best regards
